Christmas on the Square

December 6 was Christmas on the Square in Tecumseh, it was a great opportunity to have the museum open for all to come in for the first time or come again to view the displays.  We had over 70 people come through and everyone seemed impressed with the work that has been done and our continued progress on construction on the west side.  We had our annual soup supper, vendors with craft items and sold cookbooks.  If you haven’t bought a Johnson County Musem cookbook ” A Taste of History” you must do so.  The cookbook has over 400 recipes from all over Johnson County.  The cookbooks are $20 and can be purchased at the museum or email me with a check for $24 for shipping and handling.

We are in the process of our annual dues campaign and hope that all of you will become supporters/members of the museum, we could not do it without you and are grateful for the support we have received.

We hope you all have a blessed holiday.

New front to west side of museum

imageThe West side of the museum has a new front.  We are finally enclosed with new windows and doors.  We are finally ready to start working on the inside.

Sunday, December 6 at 4pm join us at Christmas Around the Square.  The museum will be open 4-8.  Santa Claus will come to the Community Building at 5pm but come earlier for hotdogs for the kids.  The Community Building will also host the soup cook off, vendors, and holiday music.  If weather permits you may take a horse and wagon ride around the square to see the decorated trees.  Anyone can decorate a tree and win a prize.
